Plant interactions with trace elements
Trace
elements occur at small concentrations in organisms, yet they have a large
biological effect, both as essential nutrients and environmental contaminants.
Trace elements affect plant growth and quality, and consequently human welfare
and ecosystem functioning. Conversely, plants affect trace element mobility and
can ameliorate
environments contaminated with trace elements.
